MBA623 Healthcare Management This subject explores how healthcare managers plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the effective delivery of healthcare and social services in a variety of organisations. The focus is on the leadership, organisational, financial and ethical issues that are specific to the healthcare sector. The concept of the population approach to healthcare management is explored by developing an awareness of the notion of ‘the determinants of health’ and gaining a basic insight into epidemiology. The increasing need to deliver better value to all stakeholders is a prime focus of this subject whilst promoting the strong leadership and management skills needed to deliver high quality, safe and effective healthcare in an increasingly complex operating environment.
