This subject will give students an appreciation for the phases involved in creating, visualising and communicating data insights. The subject will provide guided hands-on experience in manipulating and visualising diverse data sets and using state-of-the-art software analysis tools. The subject will also introduce students to standard visualisation analysis techniques, taught with a collaborative and decision-making focus. Students will evaluate the phases of a data project including data preparation, modelling and communication, and reflect on their significance to a data-driven decision-making culture. Furthermore, students will be exposed to story-telling and creativity techniques needed to effectively communicate complex visualisations to diverse stakeholders.
