This subject covers the creation and design management of a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). Students are taught how to model, create, design and manage database tables using Entity Relationship Models (ERM), Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Management Language (DML) constructs and queries. Students are additionally taught how to read and write data from and to tables using Structured Query Language (SQL). Other RDBMS-related concepts such as Data Normalisation and Security are also addressed.
