HAT306 Professional Practice in Hospitality and Tourism This subject examines the key management aspects of hospitality and tourism, utilising the core management functions of organising, planning, controlling and directing. Students will explore operational procurement, human resource management and financial management of hospitality, tourism, and their associated services in this subject. In addition, the operational constraints in managing quality, decision making and problem-solving in hospitality and tourism management will be examined. Consideration of the role of management systems and processes and how hospitality organisations monitor performance and maintain financial control are also highlighted.
