Plan your studies - FAQ
Q: When does my next trimester start and finish?
A: Trimester start, and end dates, public holidays and other important dates can be found in
the Academic Calendar.
Q: How do I plan which subjects I enrol in each trimester?
A: You can view your study plan on Kaplink by clicking on the menu icon and selecting the
Progress & Results tab. On this page, you will be able to see which subjects you have completed,
your grades and the number of subjects left to complete your course.
To plan your future enrolments, please refer to the Subject Offerings. If you have any questions,
or would like a detailed study plan to be created for you, please contact your local Student
Experience Team.
Q: I would like to defer/suspend/underload for a trimester, what is the process?
A: Students may defer, suspend or underload under specific circumstances, which are outlined in
the Changes to Enrolment Policy.
If one or more of those circumstances apply to you, please speak to your local Student Experience
Team and we will be able to advise you on the options available to you. Please note that
processing fees may apply.
Q: I would like to take a summer break, how can I do that?
A: A summer break can only be granted to eligible students in T3 each year who have completed
their annual full-time study load in T1 and T2. To learn more about what your full-time study load
is, please refer to the Study Loads for International Students and the Changes in Enrolment
Policy.
Q: I have failed a subject, what should I do now?
A: If you have failed a subject, please contact your local Academic Success Centre and book a
consultation to ensure you get further support in your studies. Contact information for your local
Academic Success Centre can be found on MyKBS by clicking on My Services and selecting
Academic Success Centre.
In terms of your study plan, if you have failed a core subject, you will need to re-take the same
subject in a future trimester. If you have failed an elective subject, you may decide to re-attempt
the same subject, or choose a different elective in its place.
Q: I would like to change my course/specialisation, how can I do that?
A: If you would like to change your course, please contact your local Student Experience Team for
a consultation to explore your options.
If you are an MBA student wishing to change your main specialisation, please contact your local
Student Experience Team so we can ensure you are eligible to change specialisation.
Requests for specialisation change will need to be sent in writing by email to your local Student
Experience Team.
Q: I need to extend my CoE, how can I do that?
A: Course extensions can be applied for in the
last trimester of your CoE and are processed after the results release date. Should you need a
CoE extension, please contact your local Student Experience Team. For more information about
CoE extensions, please refer to the Academic Success Policy.
Q: I’ve completed my degree. What happens next?
A: Congratulations on your wonderful achievement! Once you have completed a degree with KBS,
you will receive further information about official documents, graduation, and alumni support by
email in the weeks after the results release date. Make sure you join our KBS Alumni
Community LinkedIn group.
Q: Can I shorten the duration of my course?
A: Yes, you can.
If you are student visa holder and plan to apply for future visas in Australia, we recommend
speaking with a migration agent if you plan to shorten the duration of your course.
Q: Where can I access my official documents?
A: Your final transcripts and testamurs are available through the My eQuals platform.
Interim transcripts and all forms of completion letters are available only via Kaplink.
Should you require any further assistance, please contact your local Student Experience Team.
