Overview

The Master of Business Analytics (Information Technology) is designed for students with a drive to excel in both business analytics and IT, providing them with the technical and strategic skills needed to thrive in a data-driven world. This carefully structured program, aligned with the Master of Business Analytics (Extension) and the Master of Information Technology (Extension), ensures that graduates develop a comprehensive of knowledge from both fields. The program requires students to choose from our suite of MBA elective subjects, which culminates in a holistic qualification that prepares students for the next stage of their career, equipped to lead and innovate in their chosen field.

The Master of Business Analytics (Information Technology) requires you to accrue a total of 64 credit points.

Two MBA electives are to be selected as elective subjects (6 credit points each). Students can select from Level 400 and 500 MBA subjects. Please refer to the MBA course page to see available options.

Students at the Gold Coast campus will choose from a limited selection of subjects for Trimester 3 2024. For more information, please commence your application through Kaplink to see the full list of available subjects.

Course Learning Outcomes

Students enrolled in the Master of Business Analytics (Information Technology) at Kaplan Business School will learn how to:

  • Critically analyse business problems by applying advanced analytics methods and technologies to business data
  • Communicate complex data and technological insights to specialist and non-specialist stakeholders in an ethical manner
  • Formulate, evaluate and implement contextualised business applications using analytical and technology-based approaches
  • Demonstrate an exploratory, global and statistical mindset when solving complex and uncertain business and technological problems
  • Manage ethical, privacy and security issues associated with data and technology
  • Collaborate within teams to oversee analytics and technology-based initiatives
  • Create research-based and contemporary, industry-informed analytics strategies and technological solutions

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

Students may be eligible for credit for academic work previously completed and should apply to the School for this to be recognised as an exemption from individual subjects of study.
